Shawnee resident Betty Louise Sing, 62, died Friday, July 23, 2010, at her home in Shawnee.
She was born July 11, 1948, in Oklahoma City to Toby Ellis Sing Sr. and Martha O. Sing. She grew up southeast of Macomb, and had lived in Shawnee the last few years. She attended Anderson, Macomb and Faith 7 schools.

She worked at Faith 7 Activity Center. Betty loved music, especially gospel and bluegrass, animals and children. She never met a stranger, she loved people and they loved her. She liked to visit and socialize. She had a great number of friends around the county. She was one of the original students of Faith 7 School in Shawnee.

Betty loved Dr. Pepper, chocolate and family holidays. She loved her friends and activities at Adult Day Care, which she attended for four years, taking the bus each day. She was affectionately known by her family nickname of "Giddily." She was a hard worker and always tried her best.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Raymond, James and Jack; and two sisters-in-law, Geneva and Cheryl.

Survivors include her brothers and sisters-in-law, Toby "Hotshot" Sing Jr. of Tecumseh, Paul "Buck" and Rita Sing of Meeker and Jim and Delores Sing of Tecumseh; sister and brother-in-law, Nora and Don Doss of Shawnee; sister, Judy Sing of Oklahoma City; sisters-in-law, Sandra Sing of Moore and Pam Sing of Shawnee; as well as 19 nieces and nephews, 25 great-nieces and nephews, and several great-great-nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

The family suggests honoring Betty's life with your consideration of one of the following organizations: C.A.R.E. Association, Adult Day Center: 111 N. Kickapoo, Shawnee, OK 74801; Brown Cemetery Fund, c/o: First United Bank: 301 N. Broadway; Tecumseh, OK 74873; or the charity of your choice.
