Ruth Youngblood Johnston

Mrs. Ruby Youngblood Johnston of Lewisville, Texas, formerly of Buford, Ga. and the Riverside Community, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2010. She was 84.
Mrs. Johnston was born in White County on January 1, 1926, daughter of the late Johnny and Flora Youngblood. She was a retired Academic Advisor at the School of Tomorrow in Lewisville, Texas. She was a long-time member of Riverside Baptist Church in Buford. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnston was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Johnston; sisters, Ruth Addington and Mamie Lou Waycaster and brother, Herman Youngblood.
Survivors include her sons, Wesley Johnston, Lewisville, Texas and Anthony Johnston, Cleveland; daughters, Joyce Johnston, Kennesaw and Trellis Maddalena, Lewisville, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rose Lee Henderson, Cleveland, Johnnie Mae Hayes and Grace Cole, both of Cumming, Mildred Carr, Buford and Reba Hunt, Alto; brothers, Grady Youngblood, Dahlonega, Hoyt Youngblood, Monroe and Eugene Youngblood, Cleveland; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 24, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Riverside Baptist Church in Buford with Rev. Michael Youngblood officiating. Interment followed in Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends on Friday evening at the funeral home.
Flanigan Funeral Home and Crematory of Buford were in charge of arrangements.
