Lorenz Kathol

Funeral services for Lorenz F. Kathol, 83, longtime resident of Hartington were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Hartington with the Rev. Cyril Werner officiating. Burial was in St. Michael Cemetery under the direction of the Wintz Funeral home.

He was born August 10, 1891, at Hartington to John and Anna (Bruening) Kathol and died Nov. 28 in The Cedars Nursing Home at Hartington.

On Jan. 25, 1916, he married Ann Burbach at Hartington. She died on March 31, 1961. Mr. Kathol was a retired farmer.

Survivors include three sons, Ralph and James, both of Hartington, and Donald of Omaha; three daughters, Mrs. E. J. (Lavina) Moore of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., Mrs. George (Marjorie) Barna and Mrs. Richard (Vera) Koch, both of Omaha; 58 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; two brothers, Ray and Paul of Hartington; a foster brother, Clem Wiechelman of Hartington; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Anna) Marx of New York City and Mrs. Eleanor Noecker of Hartington.

Casket bearers were Gene, Greg, and Bill Kathol, Bob Barna, Scott Koch, and Daniel Moore.
