Bryan Saulpaugh, one of the. most widely known among the younger automobile race drivers, was killed when car left the Oakland speedway and rolled over three
times. The machine, known as the "Red Lion" and owned by Daniel De Paoli,was being tried out by Saulpaugh for a 150-mile race.
Saulpaugh, whose parents reside at Rock Island,Il., had been operating a service station.
Friends said he was to have been married in the East within a few days to Miss Jane Casey of Henderson, Ky.
Bryan is a member of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.
