Adele Carlson, age 81, of Lindstrom, died at her home on Sept 2, 1996.She was born to Oscar and Edla Nelson, Aug 28, 1915, at McGregor, ND. She was baptized at Scandinavian Evangelical Lutheran Church of McGregor. In 1919 the family moved to Minnesota and in 1924 settled in Shafer. She was confirmed at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church by Dr. Axel Nelson in May 1929 and has been a member ever since. She attended grade school in Shafer and graduated from Taylors Falls High School in 1932.On June 23, 1938, she married Royale Carlson and farmed the Carlson farm. To this union two daughters were born: Marilyn and Beverly. Adele worked at the Modern Store in Shafer for many years. Royale died July 8, 1973 and in 1978 she moved to Shafer and lived with her sister, Frances. She worked part time at Shafer Feed Mill and moved to Lindstrom in 1986.She was preceded in death by her husband, Royale, her parents and brothers Gordon and Ray, two sisters, Frances and Irene.
Adele is survived by her daughter Marilyn Tretsven of Dresser, Wisc. And Beverly Tougas of Champlin and five grandchildren, Mark, Vicki, Kevin, Mike and Anita and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services are Thursday, Sept. 5, at 11 am at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church. Interment at Hillside Cemetery. Arrangements Grandstrand Funeral Home.
