Funeral services were held for Alice Mildred Carlson, 51, at Chisago Lakes Lutheran Church, Center City, on Wednesday, Oct 18.

Rev W. Burdett Benson officiated at the 2 pm services with Mrs. Kenneth Barott and Mrs. Harold Deboldt serving as organist and soloist. Pallbearers were all the Carlson sons: Willard and James of Shafer, Vincent of Forest Lake, Wendall, Theodore and Dean of Cushing, WI.

Interment was in Hillside Cemetery, Center City.

Alice Mildred (nee Ecklund) Carlson was born Oct 29, 1916 in Scandia, the fifth child of William Ecklund and his wife Lillian. In the community of her birth, she was baptized Nov 29, 1916 and confirmed May 15, 1932.
She was home all her life until her marriage Oct 26, 1946 to Raymond C. Carlson of Shafer, since which time the couple farmed northeast of Shafer. One son was born to this union.

For the past dozen years Mrs. Raymond Carlson had endured an arthritic condition. Monday, Oct. 16, 1967, having been a patient in Osceola hospital for a few hours, she died just short of 52 years of age.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Carlson, one son Allen of Shafer, as well as by brothers and sisters as follows: Vern Ecklund of Cambridge, Florence (Mrs. Edwin R. Johnson of Lindstrom, Herbert Ecklund of Dresser, Della (Mrs. Ernest Bryse) of Shafer and Viola (Mrs. George Berg) of White Bear.

Mrs. Carlson's was the first death in her own family except for her parents who died about 10 years ago a few weeks apart.
