Jeffers: Funeral services for Florence Mina Ridenour, 87, were held Saturday, April 10, 1993 at 11 a.m. at the Jeffers United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark Bengtson officiating. Burial was in the Jeffers Cemetery.
Florence Mina Ridenour was born in Plymouth county, Iowa, on May 11, 1905. She was the daughter of the late Jacob and Wilhelmina (Walters) Hengten.
She came to Minnesota with her parents at the age of five in 1910. This was to become her home for the remainder of her lifetime.
Florence was united in marriage to Martin Uhlenhopp in 1942. They became the parents of one son, Leland. Mr. Uhlenhopp passed away in 1944.
On September 8, 1947, Florence was married to Ward E. Ridenour. They made their home at Jeffers. Florence was an active member of the Jeffers United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Ridenour became illa few days ago and was admitted as a patient at the Westbrook Hospital. She passed away there quite unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, April 6, 1993, at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 25 days.
Besides her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Ward E. Ridenour, Jeffers; her son, Leland and Audrey Uhlenhopp, Canon City, CO; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
At the service Jolen Dammann was organist and Richard Duroe was vocalist. John Moret and Raymond Marsh were ushers.
Honorary casket bearers were Marilyn Pittman, Gus Heffele, Nona Taylor, Milford and Ruth Sinnamon, and Dick and Florence Schmotzer.
Casket bearers were Larry Woolsey, Ernest Priebe, Paul Jones, Loren Woolsey, Allen Priebe, and Terry Uhlenhopp. Arrangements were by Anderson-Schmidt, Windom
