Pauline was born to the Honorable Johann Heinrich "Henry" Hackmann and Sophia Kase Hackmann, in 1873. She grew up in Warren County, Missouri, where she married Samuel Hackmann in 1893. About 1900 they moved to Hartsburg, Boone County, Missouri, where they lived out the rest of their lives.
Pauline was an active member of Friedens Evangelical Church in Hartsburg. Together she and Samuel raised 8 children (please see Samuel Hackmann's entry for the list of children).
She died in 1953 at Deaconness Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
