DEATH OF MRS. MARY SKEEN
Sarah C. Skeen, who died April 28, 1916, was born at Oregon City, June 5, 1849. From there she moved with her parents to a donation land claim at Parkersville, where she lived until she married Dedrick Skeen in 1866. Mr. Skeen passed away eight months ago. To this union was born one son, who passed away two years and a half ago. Mrs. Skeen is survived by two grandchildren, Cassie Skeen, and Alta Hutchinson of Liberal. Seven sisters and two brothers also survive – Mary Groshong of Wilhoit, Tabitha Stephens and Anna Siegmund of Gervais, Margie Becker and Dan Webb of Woodburn, and Frank Webb of Silverton. She also leaves numerous friends to mourn her loss.
The funeral was from the residence on Lincoln street, Sunday, at 10 a.m. in charge of Rev. L.C. Poor. Interment was at Canby. – Woodburn Independent.
