Worden Bolwar, son of Henry and Emma Hawkins Bolwar, was born near Floris on July 15, 1887 and died July 19, 1965 at the Davis County Hospital a few hours after he suffered a heart attack at his home in Floris.

Bolwar worked in the automotive field for 46 years prior to his retirement in 1959. He had also been a rural mail carrier.

He married Lulu Johnson who died in 1936. In 1939, he married Mrs. Jennie Reno, who survives.

Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Luicle Wilkinson and Mrs. Irene Lepper, both of Galesburg, Ill., Mrs. Pauline Kinney of Charleston, Ark., and Mrs. Jean Cruikshank of Des Moines; two stepsons, Sherman and Ben Reno of Bloomfield; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Paul Grant of Ottumwa and Mrs. Clay Smith of Floris; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchilden; eight stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Dearborn of Bloomfield and Mrs. Glen Smith of Floris; and one brother Lonial Bolwar of Santa Barbara, Calif.

Preceeding him in death were one daugher, Mrs. Ruth Lang; one grandson; two brothers in infancy; and two sisters, Miss Frances Bolwar and Mrs. Carrie Butler.

Funeral services were held July 21, 1965 at the Floris Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. Harold Day of Ottumwa. The Knedler Funeral Home of Blakesburg was in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in the Dunnville Cemetery

Pallbearers were his grandsons Michael Eakins, Jack Kinney, Timothy Eakins, James Wilkinson, Kelley Smith, Gary Kinney and Patrick Wilkinson.

Another grandson, Dennis Lepper, was pianist and the Rev. David Birdsall was the soloist.
