Services for Marine PFC. Jerry Brian Evans, killed September 11, 1968 in Quang Nam province of Vietnam, will be at 2p.m. Thursday in the Van Inwegen Funeral Home, Wurtsboro, N.Y.. Mr. Evans, 19 was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on November 6, 1948 and enlisted in the Marines in March, 1968. He was a former waiter at Homowack Lodge, Spring Glen, N.Y. and had made his home with his parents, Martin W. and Margaret Cushing Evans, Wurtsboro, N.Y.. He had attended Wurtsboro Grade School, Monticello High School and was graduated from Port Jervis High School. He had been a Cub Scout and Boy Scout in Wurtsboro. Surviving are his parents; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Florence Cushing of Milford, Conn.; his paternal grandmother. Mrs. Margaret Evans of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and a brother, PO.3c William Evans in the Navy. The Revs. Theodore Brinkeroff and Stephen Bachelder will officiate at the Thursday funeral service. Burial will be in the Sylvan Cemetery, Wurtsboro, N.Y.. The Veterans of Foreign Wars will hold service at 7:30p.m. tonight in the Van Inwegen Funeral Home.
