Joseph was born the son of Joseph & Bronsline Kurowski Bucholz. On Sept. 15, 1931 he and Frances Waldorf were married in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, rural Perham. They had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1981. Joseph farmed all his life in Pine Lake Township, retiring in 1979.
Survivors include his wife Frances; two daughters, Grace (Lauren) Baumgart and Margaret (Alvin) Mattfeld, both of Perham; two sons, Richard of Perham and Don of Detroit Lakes; 18 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and three sisters, Balbina (Thomas) Schwientek and Josephine (Myron) Douglas, both of Perham and Marie (Charles) Rutten of New York Mills.
