Mr. Oglesby was born Sept. 13, 1934, in Sleepy Eye, Minn., the son of Ray Oglesby and wife Ruth, nee Holmes.
He was united in marriage to Norma Tohill May 31, 1957, in Decatur, Ill.
Mr. Oglesby is survived by two sons, Tyler Oglesby and wife Katie, Littleton, Colo., and Brian Oglesby and wife Tina, Washington; two daughters, Becky Crenshaw and husband Neville, Keokuk, Iowa, and Erica Oglesby, St. Louis; one brother, Ray Oglesby and wife Loretta, Massachusetts state; one sister, Doreen Gross and husband Bill, Quincy, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma Oglesby on Sept. 3, 1999; one daughter, Julia Kim Oglesby; and one sister, Elaine Hawkins.
Mr. Oglesby was a member of the Washington Elks Lodge and the Alumni Association of the University of Chicago and Illinois State University.
Graveside services were held Sunday, March 28, at Point Pleasant Cemetery, Decatur, Ill.
Memorials to Preferred Hospice or the American Red Cross are preferred.
The family was served by Miller Funeral Home, Washington.
