Nicknamed Bonnie by her father, she joined Mt. Moriah Missonary Baptist Church in Newton, MS, as a girl, and she later joined Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral administration of her great uncle, the Rev. Fred Chapman. After marrying, she joined Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church of Hickory, MS, where she served as a member until her death.
On Sept. 19, 1948, she married Rev. Clovis Victory Wright of Hickory, Good Hope Community, MS, in Newton, MS. They were the parents of fourteen children.
After her husband accepted his call into the ministry and began pastoring, she served as First Lady of several churches and traveled with him and supported her husband in life and ministry at various churches. She was affiliated with the United Methodist Women, the United Methodist Ministers Wives, and was a faithful attendee and delegate to the Mississippi United Methodist Annual Conference.
After the Wright Family relocated to Meridian, MS, she worked for Maywebb Knitting Mills for many years before retiring in 1989.
She died May 5, 2007, at the age of 74.
She was the Wife of Rev. Clovis Victor Wright; the Mother of Rev. Annie Wright Cherry, Shirley Wright Loper, Rev. Douglas Ray Wright, Lillian Wright Lee, Mamie Wright Walker, Sandra Wright Casper, Gloria Wright Christian, Evelyn Wright King, Clovis Victor Wright, Jr., Christopher Wright, Timothy Wright, and three other children; the Daughter of Mitchell Reese Chapman and Mamie Needham Chapman; and the Sister of Daisy Chapman Johnson, Etoria Chapman Bester, Hattie Chapman Snow, Mildred Chapman Kennedy, Cora Chapman Brown Byrd, Gladys Chapman Davis, Addie Chapman Bogan, Alma Chapman McMillan, Ben Avery Chapman, Clarence Chapman, and three other siblings.
