named Black and married Mary Frances Reeder in 1861 - had 13 children - 6 died as infants or very young, buried in the Liberty Cemetery in Leon County.
Shortly after the Civil War, he changed the spelling of his name to McKandles - family 'history' has two versions of why he did so.
