A Descendant of the Kartchner/Wilcox family of Philadelphia

Great-great-grandchild of John Christopher and Prudence (Wilcox) Kartchner
Great-grandchild of TGW and Sarah (Kartchner) Pigg
Son of Alexander and Georgianna (Pigg) Titmus

William Alexander was the sixth child/first son of Alexander and Georgianna Pigg Titmus - his mother was the sister of Lulu's grandmother - Euphemia. Born 1890 in Pittsburgh, PA.

William Alexander Titmus and his wife appeared to have divorced shortly after the 1920 census. The 1930 census revealed that Lulu had divorced William and that she and her girls had moved from Pittsburgh, Pa to Norway Twp, Republic County, Kansas - where, in 1923, she married Fredric Ames.

It appears that William never remarried and that he made a home on part of his parent's property on Saline St (his address was listed as 4599 Saline, his parents lived at 4601 Saline, no 4599 Saline was found in previous city directories examined).

His nephew, Robert, described him as tall and thin - sharing many of the same features as his own father, Albert. During the Depression, he as with so many others, had difficulty finding steady work and would be "hired" by his younger brother to do work around his house and to look after Albert's children while his brother and sister-in-law worked their Dry Goods Store in Homestead.
