VIOLET MARIE DAVIS, 90, of Milton, W.Va., formerly of Statesville, N.C., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at her residence. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Bishop Tony Edmonds presiding and Elder James Linville conducting services. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery. She was born March 18, 1920, in Lincoln County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Clarence and Myrtle Powell Bias. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene C. "Gene" Davis; one granddaughter, Melissa Olson and two brothers, Farland Bias and Henry Bias. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Barboursville. She is survived by two daughters, Gail (Harry) Hixenbaugh of Milton and Brenda Tessier of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one son, Larry (Terry) Davis of Knoxville, Tenn.; 7 grandchildren, Gary Tessier, Tina Williams, Nikki Tessier, Jenny Crump, Emily Davis, Matthew Davis and Jennifer Davis and 12 great-grandchildren.
