Samuel Brewer Morris III, 79, of the 5300 block of Gale Drive, died Aug. 21, 1991, in a hospital.
Mr. Morris was born in Emporia. He had retired as a manager from Giant Open Air Markets. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church and Naomi Lodge 87, A.F. & A.M. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia D. Morris; three daughters, Gloria W. Borden of Springfield, Va., Marilyn M. Noell of Morrow, Ga., and Sandra M. Brown of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Eva M. Gregory of Norfolk and Ardis A. Emanuelson of Virginia Beach; four brothers, Cecil F.M. Morris Jr. and Ernest L. Morris, both of Virginia Beach, Robert L. Morris Sr. of Drakes Branch, Va., and James E. Morris of Norfolk; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Community United Methodist Church by the Rev. Walter Whitehurst. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel.
