WELL KNOWN RESIDENT OF 974 SOUTH ACADEMY STREET PASSES AWAY.

After a lingering illness of (3) yrs duration, Patrick Godsil died at 8 O'Clock Tuesday evening at his home. 46yrs ago he became a resident of this city (Galesburg, Ill.) and lived here continously since that time.
He was born in County Cork, Ireland in 1847. He found romance in America after immigrating here in 1864, and married a Galesburg girl, Miss Frances Cratty. A devout Catholic, he remained sincere in his belief and was a member for years at St. Patricks Church.
He was an employee for some time in the "Q" shops.(C.B. & Q Railroad).
He is survived by his widow, Frances (Frannie), (6) sons, W.H. (Will) Godsill, and David Godsil of Galesburg, Ill/, M.S. (Maurice) Godsill Of Peoria, Ill., Tom , Frank, & James of Victoria, Ill., and (4) daughters, Mrs. W.H. Fields, Mrs. Anna Sylvester of Peoria, Ill., Mrs. Frances Johnson, and Miss Nellie (Nell) Godsil at home.
