Martha Emma Beard was born in Missouri in 1880 to Joseph Wardlow and Lydia Ann (Landess) Wardlow. She married Benjamin (or Bennett) Creech and later married Robert Lee Beard April 7, 1909 at Hempstead County Arkansas. they resided in the Monrovia Community. She and her first husband had a daughter Lena, who died at the age of 12 due to a heart leakage.

Mrs. Emma Martha Beard 91, died Friday morning in a St. Joseph nursing home. She had spent most of her life in the Fillmore community.
Mrs. Beard is survived by a sister, Mrs. Minnie Wright of Denver, Colo., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday in the Breit & Hawkins Chapel The Rev. O. H. Loomis officiated with interment in the Monrovia cemetery.
