Funeral services for Vesta Pauline VanWinkle, 80, of Crossville, who passed away Aug. 14, 1997, were held Aug. 17 from the chapel of Burris Funeral Home, with burial in the Thomas Springs Cemetery.
She was born April 16, 1917 in Cumberland County.
Survivors include her daughters, Alma Downs, Thelma Boles, Lola Jackson and Stella Davis, all of Crossville; step-daughter, Arleava Beaty of Sparta; sons, William VanWinkle of Sparta, Charles VanWinkle, Roy VanWinkle and Phillip VanWinkle, all of Crossville; sisters, Ova Lewis, Cora Warner and Virginia Lewis, all of Crossville; 31 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Waymon Boles, Daniel Boles, Rocky Davis, Drew Davis, Steve Warner and Jackie Lewis. The Rev. Wayne Rutherford officiated.
Burris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
