He was one of nine children of Margaret Ann Underwood (1854-1926) and John Thomas Hunt (1857-1930). His siblings included: Robert Elmore, Thomas David, Elizabeth, Albert Sidney, Willie, Louis Mac, Ruby Elizabeth, and William D. In 1880, he was age 1, living with his parents and three year old brother Robert in Hiseville, Kentucky (Barren County). He married Mary Estella Ware, on December 24, 1899 in Overbrook, Oklahoma. They had 11 children including: Beulah, Edna Mae, Gladys, Ervin Garland, Goble Harold, Coy Noble, Robert Henry, Clovis Marie, and Lewis Thomas. Mary was born November 4, 1884, the daughter of Nancy E. Jones and Arthur Henry Ware. She died January 1, 1919 in Cleveland County, Oklahoma. In 1900, George and Mary E. were renting a farm in Township 4, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory. By 1910, the George and Estella had six children and were living in Blackburn, Oklahoma (Jefferson County), where George worked as a farm overseer. The household included: George, age 30, married once for ten years, born in Kentucky; Estella, age 26 born in Texas, married once for ten years, six children living of six born; Bullah, age 9, born in Oklahoma; Edna, age 7, born in Oklahoma; Glaydus, age 5, born in Oklahoma; Ervin, age 3, born in Oklahoma; Gable, age 2, born in Oklahoma; and Coy, age 7/12, born in Oklahoma. When Estella died, George married Edith Ward, a young woman with two children. In 1920, tjey were living in Lexinton, Oklahoma (Cleveland County). The household included: George, age 40, a farmer;Edith, age 27, born in Oklahoma; Ethel Terry, age 8; Fred Ward, age 5; Lenorma Hunt, age 1/12; Henning Hunt, age 13; Gable Hunt, age 11; Coy Hunt, age 9; Robert Hunt, age7; Clouis Hunt, age 5; Louis Hunt, age 3; and Edith Hunt, age 2.
