Thelma Bernice Franklin
Mrs. Thelma Bernice Franklin, 70, retired Vaiden employee of the Vlasic Pickle Co. in Washington County, died of heart failure Tuesday, Jan.31, 1989, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson after a brief illness.
The Yalobusha County native is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Faye Rodgers of Leland, three sons, Dewayne Murphy of Greenwood, N.J., Earl Franklin of Eupora and Jimmy Wayne Franklin of Vaiden, a sister, Miss Arice Parker of Vaiden, 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, five step grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.
She was a member of Glendale Baptist Church in Leland.
Memorial services were conducted from Oliver Funeral Home chapel at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3. The Rev. Edward Pendergrast, assisted by the Rev. Keith Powell, officiated. Burial was in Vaiden Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Guy Rodgers, Herman Smith, Timothy Murphy, Patrick Murphy, David Rodgers and Jody Wayne Franklin. Oliver Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements,
