Emma Lou Thrall, 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jul. 17, 2010, with her loving children by her side.
Emma Lou Scott was born and raised in Caro, Mich. She graduated from high school at 16, and joined the Navy at 21. From 1950-56, Emma proudly served her country during the Korean War.
As a Communications Teletype Operator, she served in Norfolk, Va., Washington D.C., and London, England. While in England, she traveled throughout Europe. One highlight was witnessing the coronation of the Queen of England.
In London, Emma married Ronald J. Druet. They settled in Puyallup and had two children, Ron in 1957 and Kym in 1958.
In 1981, Emma married Alynn Thrall. They loved to travel, and especially loved spending time with their grandchildren. He preceded her in death in 1985.
Emma always gave of herself. She was happiest when helping someone in need. She was a loving mother who sacrificed much to provide for her children, and was a proud and adoring grandmother.
Emma is survived by her sister, Erma Jean Bohnhoff, of Saginaw, Mich.; son Ron S. (Jennie) Druet of Puyallup, Wash., and daughter Kym (Joel) Wood of Marysville, Wash.; Grandchildren, Christina, Lacey (Matt), Hollis (Rebecca), Joseph, Logan, Stephanie and Hannah; and great-granddaughters, Olivia and Adelyn.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday Aug. 13, 2010, at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 S.E. 240th St., Kent, Wash.
