Lula Donovan was born at Doniphan county, a daughter of Franklin Louis (Frank) and Nancy J. Woods Chase. She married Mr. Andrew Donovan in Atchison. They farmed near Monrovia for many years and later he was a carpenter and stone mason as well. Mrs. Donovan lived the majority of her life at Monrovia. She and her sons purchased the Burke residence on the west side of Effingham in 1973 and moved there in November of that year. She leaves her two sons, Norman and Dale, Effingham: two daughters, Mrs. David (Thelma) Sinclair, Circleville, and Mrs. Della Mercer, Atchison, a sister, Mrs. Ida Wills, Atchison; and two brothers, John Chase, Salem, Mo., and Charles Chase, Atchison.
