OBITUARY: Elizabeth McFarren was born in Highland County, Ohio, Sept. 27, 1835 and died in Palmyra, Nebr., Febr. 6, 1911, aged 75 years, 4 months and 9 days. When she was but 8 years of age her parents moved with her to Wells County, Indiana where she grew into womanhood and was united in marriage to Peter Fifer, Sept. 2, 1855 to which union were born 9 children., 7 of whom, 2 sons and 5 daughters, survive her. About two and one half years since her husband passed on to await her coming, leaving her alone with her son, "Ben", who deserves much credit for his loyalty and devotion to his mother in the infirmities of age. The funeral was conducted from the residence on Wednesday the 8th, by Rev. L. Hedden, and the body, followed by a large procession of relatives and friends, was laid to rest in the Rosewood Cemetery to await the sound of the last trumpet.
