"Melissa Bateman Glover
Midvale-Melissa Alice Bateman Glover, 92, died March 25, 1981, in Murray, Utah. Born March 3, 1889, in West Jordan, Utah to Edward Alonzo and Frances Alice Glover Bateman. Married Parley Roy Glover, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, July 9, 1925. He died July 1, 1973. She attended school in Midvale and was a graduate of Brigham Young University and the University of Utah. She held many positions in the LDS Church, having served as a teacher in the Ward Sunday School, MIA, and Relief Society, and for six years in the LDS Seminary. She was a member of the East Jordan Stake Sunday School, Relief Society and YWMIA boards. Firs and Second Counselor in the East Jordan Stake. Served a Mission in East Jordan Stake. Taught School for many years in the Jordan School District, Branch Agricultural College at Cedar City and in Salt Lake City School District. Active member of the D.U.P. Survivors: daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Edna) Terry, Provo, Utah; sons, Parley (Ike) Glover, San Jose, California; Gordon Glover, Payson, Utah, Donald Glover, Medford, Oregon; sister, Dean Sorensen, Ogden, Utah; 28 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; preceded in death by children: Hazel, Lucille, martha, Ruth and Agnus. Funeral services will be held Saturday, march 28, 1981, 12:00 noon, in the Union 9th Ward, 2350 Creek Rd., Sandy. Friends may call Friday evening March 27, from 6-8 p.m., at the Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street and Saturday at the Church one hour prior to services. Interment, Murray City Cemetery."
