Joined the Army 20 Dec 1941 from Bartlesville, OK. He volunteered for the paratroopers and assgined to the 503rd Parachute Infantry. He took part in the battle of Noemfoor in Dutch New Guinea, The Battle for Mindoro Island in the Philippines and his team jumped onto Fortress Corregidor to liberate it from Japanese forces. He was killed in hand-to-hand fighting on Los Negros 9 April 1945. The 503rd received the Presidential Unit Citation from President Harry Truman for the fighting on Corregidor.
