Jeanette C. Lyman, age 92 of Aitkin died Friday, January 4, 2008 at her home. Jeanette was born September 30, 1915 at Pickens County, South Carolina to Vernon and Viola (Garren) Julian.
She grew up and attended schools in Pickens and lived there until 1963 when she moved to Aitkin, Mn. She married Gilbert Lyman on September 14, 1971 at Watertown, South Dakota. They continued to live in Aitkin. Gilbert died in 1990. Jeanette was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Aitkin. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, cooking, walking and volunteering. Jeanette's greatest pleasure came from the beauty of a simple life.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Ruth Ryan and Pat Watson both of Aitkin; 2 sons: George Holcomb of Birmingham, Alabama; Charles Holcomb of Gaffney, South Carolina; 1 brother: Hyott Daves of South Carolina; 3 sisters: Sue McKinney and Lucille Brazille both of Pickens, South Carolina and Shirley Bristow of Florida. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gilbert and 1 daughter Jean Jewell.
As Jeanette requested, there will be no services held. Arrangements are with the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.
