She died at 3:10 a.m. Monday, May 28, 1990 in Lubbock Methodist Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Georgetown and grew up in the Cone Community. She married Cy Denton in 1926 in Crosybton. He died in 1979. She was a member of Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Jack of Idalou; two brothers, H.C. McFarland of Amarillo and Arbrey McFarland of LaPorte; two sisters, Laveta Lanier of Clovis, N.M., and Opal Williams of Moriarty, N.M.; two grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and a great grandson.
