Elbert Conley of Ruckersville has gone home to be with the Lord on Nov. 4, 2005. He was born July 19, 1931, to the late Loyd Lee Conley and Callie Conley. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Loraine Conley; and two infant children and one brother, Erman Conley. He is survived by three brothers, Edward Conley of Stanardsville, Elwood Conley of Martinsburg, W.Va., Elvin Conley of Stanardsville; and one sister, Edith Roach, also of Stanardsville. He will be greatly missed by his dear friends and care givers, Page and Patsy Fox, Teresa Harris and Becky Anderson of Ruckersville. Elbert was the pastor of Shady Grove Bible Baptist Church, in Shifflett Hollow. Elbert lived his life telling others about the Lord. He never missed the opportunity to tell others about the salvation of Jesus Christ. Elbert will be greatly missed by all that knew him. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at First Bible Baptist Church of Stanardsville with pastors James Woods and Ken Hishman officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.
