Survivors also include his stepmother, Mrs. Rena Whitehurst of Norolk; two daughters, Mrs. Estelle Freeman and Mrs. Lorraine Dozier of Virginia Beach; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Linda Bornar and Miss Peggy Hawkins of Norfolk; three sons, Johnny Whitehurst of Creeds, and Grover Whitehurst and Michael Whitehurst of Virginia Beach; three stepsons, Army Pvt. Michael Hawkins of Ft. Jackson, S.C., and Rodger Hawkins and James Hawkins of Norfolk; and a brother, Clamon Whitehurst of Norfolk.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive, by the Rev. John Baldwin. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
