CYRUS A. ALLSHOUSE
Cyrus A. Allshouse, 90 years old, the second oldest resident of Irwin, died at 12:30 o'clock Saturday at his home in Pennsylvania avenue, that place, following an illness of six months. He was born in North Huntingdon township near Irwin, December 4, 1858 and resided in the Irwin community all his life. He was the oldest member of the Irwin Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Mr. Allshouse was the son of the late Lebbaeus and Henrietta Dry Allshouse and for half a century was employed as a blacksmith by the Hockensmith Wheel and Mine Car company. He is survived by his widow, Anna H. Hilker Allshouse, 86 years old, and the following children: Mrs. Myrtle Thomas, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Attorney Harry L. Allshouse; Bert Allshouse; Mary H. Allshouse; Elaine E. Allshouse and Fred s. Allshouse, all at home and Ross W. Allshouse and Mrs. Anna B. Klingensmith, both of Irwin. He is also survived by three granchildren and one half sister, Mrs. Lottie Myers.
Friends are being received at the family home in Pennsylvania avenue where funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon in charge of his pastor, Rev. Paul N. Schnur. Interment will be in the Irwin Union cemetery.
