Obituary for Anthony D'Amico

Anthony "Tony" D'Amico, 79, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 18, 2008 after a brief illness. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Ann Marie (Tinty) D'Amico.

Anthony was born on June 10, 1929 in Plainville to the late Constantino and Rosa (Pinciaro) D'Amico.

As a lifelong Plainville resident, Tony loved and supported his town. He graduated from Plainville High School in 1948, where he lettered in football, basketball, and baseball; and was later inducted into the Plainville Sports "Hall of Fame". He continued his education at the University of Rhode Island, attending on a full football scholarship, and graduated with a degree in teaching.

Tony was an avid businessman and entrepreneur. In his spare time, he enjoyed horse racing, playing golf, cards, taking weekly trips to the casino, visiting Las Vegas, and going out to breakfast with family and friends. He could often be found at the garage screening top soil. Tony loved spending time with his family and friends; you could always tell who he liked by who he picked on the most. Tony will forever be remembered as a true family man.

He leaves his 3 sons and 2 daughters Donald D'Amico and his wife Laura of Farmington, Marc D'Amico and his wife Laurene of Plainville, William D'Amico and his wife Elizabeth of Plainville, Merilee D'Amico and Jim Dombrowski of S.
