KATE KINKEAD NELSON
Kate Kinkead Nelson, daughter of Robert W. and Rebecca Kinkead, was born Aug. 28, 1862, in Homer, Ohio. She came to Chariton with her parents in 1869 and about 1915 moved to California.
She was united in marriage to Henry Nelson in 1923 and they lived near Kersey, Colo. Mr. Nelson died in 1942.
She came to Omaha in 1949 to live with a nephew and wife, Everett and Evelyn Dobson, until she passed away in her sleep the morning of July 8, 1957, in her 94th year.
Other nephews and nieces surviving are Harry Dobson of Akron, Ohio; Mary Dobson of Council Bluffs; Chester Dobson of Washington, D.C.; Bessie Morrett of Millerton; Amos Kinkead, George Kinkead, Kate Ansley and Dorothy Currier, all of Chariton; Lorena Kinkead of Long Beach, Calif; and Clara Cuthbert of Windsor, Ontario.
One sister, Libbie Dobson and one brother, Robert Kinkead, preceded her in death.
She was a kind and loving person and will be missed by those who knew her.
At an early age she joined the Presbyterian church and was a faithful member throughout her life.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 1957 at the Beardsley Funeral Home. Rev. A. E. Beals officiated and interment was in the Chariton cemetery.
