Bachman died Thursday morning at a Rapid city hospital, following a long illness. He was born April 11, 1911 at Faith, and has lived there all his life.
Since the age of 20, he had been engaged in the rodeo business, both as a rider and as a producer. On Jan. 27, 1933 he was married at Dupree. His first wife died in 1941. He then married Juanita Wright in February, 1943 at Dupree.
Survivors include his widow; four sons, James of Long Beach, Calif., Lyle, John and Cecil, all of Faith; a step-son, Gene Royer of Long Beach; seven daughters, Mrs. Carrol McQuirk, Mrs. Doris Reede, Mrs. Edith McGinnis, Patricia Rae and Sherry, all of Faith, Mrs. Pearl Drake of Long Beach, and Mrs. Nelda Jean Byrne of Mill Iron, Mont.; two brothers, Erwin and Albert, both of Faith; a sister, Mrs. Lea Allen of Mount Vernon, Wash.; and 14 grandchildren.
