Her husband was killed with 3 others when the wagon train he was on was attacked by renegade Sioux Indians. Hester and Andrew had 9 children together, 4 of whom share the same tombstone and proceeded her in death. Daughter, Rowena, cannot be located after the 1855 WI census when she was 18.
