Casket bearers were: Jim Nelson, Bill Nelson, Melvin Hackwell, Aldie Josephsen, Richard Josephsen and Robert Josephsen. Interment was in the Exira Cemetery.
Mr. Josephsen, son of Baltzer and Mette Christine Petersen Josephsen was born Jan. 12, 1889 in Thyregod, Vejle, Denmark and died Friday, Nov. 8, at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic. He immigrated to the United States at the age of 17 and worked for the railroad before settling into farming in Clarke County in 1930. In early 1950 the family moved to Audubon County and farmed west of Exira. He married Martha Petersen May 14, 1915 and she died in 1960. After retiring from farming the Josephsens moved to Anita .
He is survived by two sons, Richard of Adair and Robert of Exira; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, three brothers and two infant grandchildren.
