Miss Ora Arnold married E.M. Douthit on 10 January 1883. The couple moved to Jones County in 1885 and then to Shackelford County in 1887. She returned to Jones County in 1887 to teach school. The couple lived on the B Bar E Ranch near Lueders and later moved to Lueders. Mr. Douthit preceded her in death in 1919.
Survived by three sons - Arnold, Louis and J.D. Douthit; three daughters - Mrs. Zoe Reagan, Ms. Doris Long and Mrs. Lillie Barbee; one brother - W.R. Arnold; four sisters - Mrs. Meta Tonroy, Mrs. Edna Thomas, Mrs. Zada Jones, Mrs. Jim Busby; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
