Lettie Mae was my Grandmother on my Moms side. We called her Mum-Mum for our Mom's Mom.

I remember going to visit my Grandma when I was a little girl. Everyday after school I would go to her upstairs apartment and she would pull out the t.v. trays, turn on cartoons and make me peanut butter and jelly with butter sandwich, Campbell soup and peel me an apple. It was fun at her house and I always felt safe there. She had a closet with baby food jars filled with pennies and coins that she had found walking to and from work everyday. She worked at the hospital in the cafeteria in Houston, Texas. Later, when she retired she moved to Patton Village in Texas. We lived down the way from her. I would walk the levy all the time and follow the lake to her house and go fishing, digging worms eat, talk to her, play pick up sticks, help her in her herb garden. She had the neatest little cottage around. It was so tiny and small and neat as a pin. We had some hard times in our family and Mum Mum was my comfort in alot of ways. (I wish I had a scanner or printer so I could put her picture up) .
Towards the end of her life, she had started to lose allot of weight. I did not know what what happening to her. I did not realize she had cancer. I was already married then with 3 children. I thought she was losing weight to get healthy and she kept it to herself so as not to worry anyone. I wish I would have known then she was leaving and I would have done something different. I like to believe she is in heaven with the rest of my family. Miss you Mum Mum.
