Lula Mae Blalock was born March 5, 1920 in Hall County, Georgia, to the late Horld and Ethel Chumbler Morris. She worked at New Holland Mill but retired from Mar-Jac Poultry Company. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Clarence Edwards and daughter Martha Pittman. Survivors: husband Herbert Blalock of Gainesville; son Larry R. Edwards of Gainesville; son and daughter in law Jerry Lee and Julie Edwards of Flowery Branch; daughters and sons in law Linda and Kermit Evans of Gainesville, Mary and Homer Howington of Braselton, Pamela and Bill Vaughn of Waycross; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sisters Ella Dyer of Gainesville, Venita Heggwood of Gainesville.

Funeral services were held at Temple Baptist Church with Dr. James Ransom, and Rev. Marvin Harris officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial Park Funeral Home of Gainesville.
