Richard C. Kanak, 82, of Gold Canyon, AZ. Passed away on August 31, 2005. Richard was born on February 7, 1923 in Chicago. IL. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years. Lavergn M. Kanak; sons, Richard C. (Kathy) Kanak of Illinois and James P. (Pam) Kanak of Utah; grandchildren. Johnny and Tammy (Dave) Shurr, both of Illinois; and great-grandchildren, David. Jonathan and Simone Shurr of Illinois. A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday. September 3 at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd. Mesa, AZ. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Richard was an ardent philatelist. He edited and published album pages for the postage stamps of Tannu Tuva (an Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic) also compiled the first catalog of their stamps ever published-Library or Congress Call No. HE6185.R93T354, Dewey Dec.
