A Descendant of the Kartchner/Wilcox family of Philadelphia

Only son of Carol Kartchner and Harold Gene May.

He suffered from Muscular Dystrophy and was selected as the Utah Poster Child of the Muscular Dystrophy Association of America in 1961.

James Ernest May, 15, of 809 27th, died this morning at his home of muscular dystrophy.

He was born Oct. 31, 1952, in Ogden, a son of Harold Gene and Carol Kartchner May. He had lived in Ogden most of his life and was a student at the division for the physically handicapped handicapped at tht Gramercy School.

He was a member of the LDS Church.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Carol Kartchner Spearing, Ogden; his father, Harold Gene May; one half brother and three half sisters, Danny S. Spearing, Debora S. Spearing, Robin S. Spearing, all of Ogden; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin E. Kartchner, Ogden, Procter May, Mrs. Susan Pratt, both of Ashland, Ky.

Funeral services will be announced by Lindquist and Sons Mortuary.
