KANSAS CITY - Cecil Lee Luginbill, 78, died July 15, 2008, at his home in Kansas City.

He was born Feb. 27, 1930, in Hutchinson, the son of Adolf D. and Lena Koehn Luginbill.

He moved from Hutchinson and was a resident of Kansas City since 1993. He was a 1950 graduate of Burrton High School. He was an engineer with Cessna Fluid Power Division, and later with Boeing in Wichita. He belonged to Cross Roads Christian Church, and was a member of Bob Campbell Post No. 1361 of V.F.W. in Hutchinson. He served in the U.S. Navy.

On Oct. 20, 1956, he married Barbara Jean Coleman in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: son, Todd Luginbill (Nikki), Olathe; daughter, Lori Cavlovic (Michael), Kansas City; grandchildren, Tyler Dinsmore, Carly Dinsmore, Austin Luginbill, Ethan Luginbill, Haley Luginbill; and step-grandchildren, Nicholas and Michaela Cavlovic.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Francis Luginbill and Orville Luginbill.

Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Wayne Pittman officiating. Friends may sign the book from noon to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with family receiving friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Military Honors provided by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.

Memorials may be sent to Terry C. Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research or Kansas City Hospice Palliative Care, in care of the mortuary.
