Margaret Marie Hale "Peg" Snyder, 83, resident of Mansfield, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010, in MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 23, 1927, in Tiffin, to Elmer and Dora (Barber) Hale. She had been a resident of Wedgewood Estates in Mansfield.
She married Robert Dee Snyder June 2, 1946, in Ebenezer Evangelical United Brethren Church in Tiffin. They left the farm to enter into Christian ministry with the United Methodist Church in 1952, and spent their lives in ministry to others. Together, they served churches in Berkey, Vickery, Savannah, Willard, Shelby, Akron, Cardington and then retired to Fostoria. They were married for 59 years when Bob preceded her in death in 2005.
Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Lanette and Chuck Cornwell of Toledo, Deborah and Mike Stanfield of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Vickie and Dave Luster of Shelby; one son and daughter-in-law, Pastor Tom and Becky Snyder of Shelby; and by a "foster" son and his wife, Tadi and Fifi Wantwadi of Atlanta, Ga. ; 24 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Robert Snyder, in 1982; a brother, Kenneth Hale; and a sister, Hildred Hale.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010, from First United Methodist Church in Shelby. Pastor Tom Snyder will officiate. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Tiffin.
