Lawrence Schouest

Lawrence "Do-Do" Schouest, 79, a native of Galliano and resident of Cut Off, died at 4:45 p.m. Dec. 19, 2005.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon Friday at Christian Fellowship Church in Larose. A religious service will be held at noon Friday at the church, with burial at Cheramie Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Ella Mae Griffin Schouest; son and daughter-in-law Larry and Dolly Schouest; daughters and sons-in-law Judy and James Callais, Penny and Timmy St. Pierre; sister Norecia "Belle" Cheramie; grandchildren Johnny and Jason Callais, Joy Callais Griffin, Spring St. Pierre Burke, Travis St. Pierre, Nicholas and Alicia Schouest, April Bourg Evans and Adine Bourg Hebert; and great-grandchildren Abigail, Fasia, T.C. Griffin, Austin Burke, Summer Harrison, William and Emma Evans, Kiley Angelette and Everett "Eli" Hebert II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Angele Schouest; brothers Gillis and Larry Schouest; sisters Alcidie Ledet and Lorica Oswick.

He was a Christian.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of American Legion Post 259 Golden Meadow.

He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed working, gardening, reading and being with his family and grandchildren.
