John Palmer Parker,I founded the Parker Ranch on the island of Hawaii in the early 1800's. To this day, the ranch is still in full operation. The Parker Ranch takes up about 500,000 acres in the northern tip of the island. John Parker was given special permission from King Kamehameha I to slaughter the wild cattle that started to consume the island's vegetation and overrun the towns. This inturn, led to the ranch as it is known today. John Parker married King Kamehameha's granddaughter, Rachel Kipikane. More to follow.
