A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off for Alcida Cheramie Charpentier Orgeron, 94, a native and resident of Cut Off, who died at 6:25 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17.1994
Visitation will be. 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at the church.
Burial will be in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.
She was the mother of Russine Charpentier; stepmother of Whitney, Antoine and Blue Orgeron and Mabel and Jane Savoie; sister of Eva C. Lorraine. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Luke Charpentier Sr.; second husband, Sylvest Orgeron; parents, Lovincy and Julia Plaisance Cheramie; a son, Luke Charpentier Jr.; a brother, Adam Cheramie; and two sisters, Jane C. Barrios and Alzina C. Vega.
