She was converted at the age of 16, and was baptized into the fellowship of Ellis Mound Church, Hamilton County, Illinois, by Elder John B. Smith. Her husband was Brother W. H. Brydon. When they came to Mt. Vernon, Ill., some years ago she was united with the First Baptist Church by letter. Later on she went into the organization of the Second Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon, and continued a member till her death. She was an excellent Christian woman, but on account of ill health had not been able to attend church much during the past two years. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Elder J. W. Allen. He preached the sermon from 1 Thess. 4:18. She leaves her husband and one daughter, about twelve years of age to mourn her death.
