Francis Lena Martin, 90, formerly of Fairdale, died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, in a Beckley hospital following a long illness.

Born Aug. 14, 1910, in Cabin Creek, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Julie Maynor Bearfield.

Mrs. Martin has been a resident of Icard for the past several years and previously lived in Fairdale for many years. She was a member of the Mattsville Community Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Martin; a daughter, Jewel Miller; two sons, Eugene Walker and John Michael Davis; a brother, Or-ville Bearfield; and three sisters, Virginia Workman, Cora Moles and Lucille Hudson.

Survivors include five sons, Buford Davis of Beckley, Edward Davis of Shady Spring, Denver Walker of Richmond, Ind., Doug Walker of Jackson, Tenn., and Elmond Walker of Beckley; five daughters, Fran-ces Coffman, Eloise Davis, Cora Salgado and Betty Wiley, all of Ravena, Ohio, and Kay Marlowe, with whom she made her home; 50 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Leona Dickens of Alpoca.

Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Melton Mortuary Cha-pel with the Rev. Allen Terry officiating. Burial will follow in the Milam Cemetery, Saxon. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Arrangements by Melton Mortuary, Beckley.
